SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE PRO TEMPORE


APPLICATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED FOR SUPERIOR COURT JUDGE PRO TEMPORE Presiding Judge Kyle A. Bryson announces that the Court’s Merit Selection Committee is accepting applications for the position of full-time Judge Pro Tempore. The position became open upon appointment of the Hon. Casey F. McGinley to Superior Court Judge by Governor Doug Ducey. The duties of this position include presiding over all phases of a broad range of criminal cases. While the selected applicant will be assigned to a standard criminal case load, future assignments to other responsibilities including but not limited to specialty courts such as drug or mental health court may be required. Qualifications and salary information are set forth in A.R.S. 12-142 and 12-143. Current annual salary is $149,382. A judge pro tempore of the superior court shall be: not less than thirty years of age; of good moral character; admitted to the practice of law in this state for not less than five years next preceding his/her appointment; a resident of this state for not less than five years next preceding his/her appointment. In addition, the Arizona Superior Court in Pima County requires that the candidate does not have any disciplinary matters pending before the State Bar Disciplinary Board and must not have any criminal charges pending before any court.
